Growing Up Trans: Trans Youth and Parental Support in Asia Pacific

APTN's Towards Transformative Healthcare Module (TTHM) provides medical professionals and healthcare workers in Asia and the Pacific with the knowledge and skills needed to provide trans competent and gender-affirming care. This resource is particularly valuable for parents of transgender youth, as it equips them with the tools to support their children's healthcare needs. Through the TTHM, healthcare providers can increase their cultural sensitivity and understanding of SOGIESC issues. This, in turn, enables them to create an affirming and welcoming environment for trans youth and helps reduce stigma and discrimination. In this video, we will be hearing from transgender youth in the Asia Pacific region about their experiences with their parents and struggles they have faced as transgender youth. Through their stories, we hope to raise awareness about the unique challenges that transgender youth in the region face and promote the importance of creating culturally sensitive and thoughtful healthcare resources like the TTHM. Join us as we listen to these powerful stories and learn how we can support and empower transgender youth in the Asia Pacific region.
